Transaction Overview: bp has agreed to sell non-controlling interests in its Permian and Eagle Ford midstream assets to Sixth Street-managed funds for $1.5 billion, with bpx energy remaining the operator.
Ownership Changes: Following the transaction, bpx's ownership in the Permian midstream assets will decrease from 100% to 51%, and in the Eagle Ford midstream assets from 75% to 25%.
Payment Structure: The deal is structured in two phases, with approximately $1 billion paid at signing and the remaining balance expected by the end of the year.
